Climate Task Force Chair Applauds House Passage of Task Force-Endorsed Building Chips in America Act
The NDC Climate Change and Clean Energy Task Force endorsed the legislation late last year
Today, Climate Change and Clean Energy Task Force Chair Scott Peters (CA-50) issued the following statement after the House passed S.2228, the Building Chips in America Act. The Task Force endorsed the House companion (H.R.4549) to this legislation last year along with more than a dozen other bills to streamline clean energy deployment. Task Force Chair Peters co-authored H.R.4549, and New Dem Rep. Colin Allred (TX-32) was a co-lead.
“Congress must act to unleash the potential of American clean energy and manufacturing. That’s why New Dems have worked tirelessly to advance legislation that incentivizes innovation, breaks down regulatory barriers, and boosts domestic manufacturing of key energy technologies.
“Today the House took a significant step forward, advancing New Dem-endorsed legislation that will cut red tape to help ensure domestic chip manufacturers can quickly bring projects online while maintaining high quality environmental outcomes. We’ll keep working to build consensus on legislation like the Building Chips in America Act that will help America create a 21st-century clean energy economy.”
