September 18, 2023ICYMI: Today, Axios published an article on the New Dem letter New Democrat Coalition Vice Chair for Communications Brad Schneider (IL-10), Chair Annie Kuster (NH-02), Vice Chair for Policy Derek Kilmer (WA-06), and 95 other Members sent to House Speaker Kevin McCarthy imploring him to take the necessary actions to fund the government and avoid a shutdown. In the letter, New Dems called on Speaker McCarthy to put forward bipartisan government funding bills similar to those advanced by the Senate and consistent with the bipartisan debt ceiling agreement that Congress and the administration negotiated this May.
