New Dem Chair: Republican Budget Undermines Our Work to Move this Country Forward
Today, New Democrat Coalition Chair Ron Kind (WI-03) released the following statement as the House of Representatives begins debate on the Republican budget:
“The Republican budget undermines our work to move this country forward, stifles economic advancement, and hinders job growth. Continually reducing our investments in key areas for our competitiveness will leave our businesses with an under-skilled workforce, an outdated transportation network, and reduced technology innovation in America.
“As New Dems, we are dedicated to finding a long-term solution that can make our spending leaner and smarter without impeding economic growth. We can start the discussion with the largest and fastest growing area of federal spending—rising health care costs. By addressing the structural drivers on increased health care costs, we will reduce our deficit without jeopardizing the quality or access of care.
“We have solutions. Let’s bring a big, balanced plan for America’s future to the table.”
