New Dem Leaders Applaud Appointment of Seven New Dems to Select Committee on Strategic Competition Between The United States and The Chinese Communist Party
New Dems make up seven of the eleven Democratic Members on the Select Committee, including Ranking Member Raja Krishnamoorthi
Today, New Democrat Coalition Chair Brad Schneider (IL-11) and Vice Chair for Policy Nikki Budzinski (IL-13) issued the following statement after House Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries appointed eleven Democratic Members to the Select Committee on Strategic Competition Between the United States and the Chinese Communist Party.
Leader Jeffries appointed seven New Dems to the Select Committee, including: Rep. Raja Krishnamoorthi (IL-08) (Ranking Member), Rep. André Carson (IN-07), Rep. Seth Moulton (MA-06), Rep. Mikie Sherrill (NJ-11), Rep. Haley Stevens (MI-11), Rep. Shontel Brown (OH-11), and Rep. Greg Stanton (AZ-04).
“Led by our colleague and friend Ranking Member Krishnamoorthi, these seven New Dems are poised to bring the Coalition’s brand of commonsense, bipartisan policymaking as well as a wealth of expertise to the work of this critical Select Committee.
