New Dem Leadership Endorses Slate of Tax Bills to Support Hardworking Families, Incentivize Investment and Innovation
Today, New Democrat Coalition Leadership endorsed 10 taxation bills, the majority of which are bipartisan. Each of these New Dem-led bills is aimed at making targeted improvements to the tax code to benefit families, workers, and small businesses around the country. From expanding the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) and making the Child Tax Credit (CTC) permanent to incentivizing large-scale transmission projects and creating a tax credit for hiring apprenticeship employees, these pieces of legislation touch critical sectors of our economy.
New Dem Chair Annie Kuster (NH-02) and Vice Chair for Policy Derek Kilmer (WA-06) released the following statement on the endorsement:
“As New Dems, we are committed to making sure our tax code empowers hardworking Americans to achieve their financial goals while at the same time strengthening our economy by incentivizing investment and innovation.
“The 10 bills we’ve endorsed today further this commitment, making much-needed amendments and additions to the tax code that uplift hardworking families, strengthen our economy, and keep America competitive in the global marketplace.
“New Dems look forward to working with our colleagues across the aisle and the Capitol to secure passage of these bills in future tax legislation.”
