New Dem Leadership Statement on Passage of Bipartisan Resolution Standing with Israel, Unequivocally Condemning Hamas
Today, New Democrat Coalition Chair Annie Kuster (NH-02) and Vice Chair Brad Schneider (IL-10) released a statement following the passage of the bipartisan resolution led by House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Michael McCaul (TX-10) and Ranking Member Gregory W. Meeks (NY-05). The resolution reiterates that the United States Congress stands with Israel and unequivocally condemns the terrorist attacks Hamas launched targeting Israeli civilians.
“Today, Members of the New Democrat Coalition voted to reaffirm America’s ironclad support for Israel as it defends itself and its citizens against Hamas terrorism.
“Following the heinous terrorist attacks on our ally Israel, New Dem Leadership endorsed this bipartisan resolution to stand with Israel. Now that there is finally a Speaker in place and Congress can get back to work, we are glad to see this resolution pass the House with broad, bipartisan support.
“As the House reopens, it’s critical Congress moves quickly to pass President Biden’s supplemental funding request that will provide vital security and humanitarian support to the Israeli people as they defend themselves against Hamas and work to rescue their hostages, as well as critical humanitarian aid to innocent civilians in Gaza.”
