New Democrats’ Statement on the Announcement of William Daley as White House Chief of Staff

Today, leaders of the New Democrat Coalition, led by Congressman Joseph Crowley, released the following statement upon the announcement by President Obama of William Daley as the new White House Chief of Staff:

"We welcome the appointment of William Daley to the position of White House Chief of Staff. Bill has a keen understanding of our economy and knows how to successfully collaborate and negotiate the tough challenges we are facing in the global economy. His long record of accomplishment, including managing the Department of Commerce during one of our nation's most robust economic periods, will serve the nation well in his new position.

"On behalf of the New Democrat Coalition, we welcome Bill and look forward to working with him and the Administration to keep American families, workers and businesses strong, to get our fiscal house in order and ensure our nation's standing at the top."
