Anne Sokolov Joins New Democrat Coalition as Executive Director

The New Democrat Coalition (NDC) is excited to announce that Anne Sokolov will join the team as the Coalition’s new and first-ever female Executive Director.

“New Dems are thrilled to welcome Anne Sokolov to the Coalition,” said NDC Chair Annie Kuster (NH-02). “Having served in several New Dem offices throughout her career, Anne has a thorough understanding of the Coalition’s mission and core priorities. With more than 15 years of experience in both the House and the Biden administration, Anne brings a profound knowledge of policy and political strategy to the Coalition. Her leadership will be instrumental as New Dems continue to break through partisan gridlock in the 118th Congress, prepare to win back the majority in 2024, and advance policies that lower costs, grow the economy, and strengthen the middle class.”

Sokolov brings more than 15 years of policy, political, and leadership experience to the Coalition. Most recently, she served as Chief of Staff to NDC Freshman Leadership Representative Nikki Budzinski (IL-13). Prior to joining Rep. Budzinski’s office, she served in the Biden Administration as the Associate Director for Legislative Affairs in the White House Office of Drug Control Policy. Sokolov has also served in senior roles for former Reps. Max Rose (NY-11) and Tim Ryan (OH-13), and started her House career under former Rep. Charlie Wilson (OH-06). Sokolov hails from Ohio and is a graduate of The George Washington University.

Sokolov will serve as the fifth Executive Director of the Coalition, following Matt Schumaker, Adam Pase, J.D. Grom, and Andy Flick, who recently joined the White House as Director of Legislative Affairs for Vice President Kamala Harris.
