Democratic Whip Steny Hoyer Praises New Dem National Security Principles

Yesterday, the New Democrat Coalition released National Security Principles for a tough and smart national security strategy that secures our homeland and protects our values. House Democratic Whip Steny H. Hoyer (MD-05) released the following statement in support of the New Democrat Coalition’s comprehensive national security plan:

 “The New Democrat Coalition has been among the strongest voices when it comes to calling for a robust national security strategy.  The principles they’re unveiling today will help us defeat terrorism overseas and protect our communities here at home. They have proposed smart, tough national security policies that focus on promoting the values that make us a strong global leader.  Their plan smartly calls for increased investment to make sure our troops have the tools they need to carry out their missions safely and effectively, for increased resources to defend against cyber threats, for the promotion of economic engagement as a tool for building global alliances, and for training and equipment for our first responders.  I look forward to working with the New Democrats to achieve these goals and work to keep America safe.”
