National Security Groups Praise New Dem National Security Principles

The New Democrat Coalition continues to gain support for their National Security Principles, released yesterday. National Security groups Third Way4DPAC, and Northrop Grumman released the following statements of support for the New Dems’ tough and smart national security plan:

Mieke Eoyang, Vice President for the National Security Program at Third Way, said “In a time of growing global crises and reckless rhetoric, the New Democrat Coalition’s national security strategy is strong, smart, and pragmatic. The New Democrats set forth an assertive, but targeted approach to defeating terrorism and protecting Americans where they live, work, learn, shop, and play. Their strategic plan ensures funding to support our best-in-the-world military, promotes U.S. values globally, and reinvigorates the international alliances so necessary to achieving our aims. This plan reflects the steady leadership needed to keep Americans safe.”

Jim Arkedis, President of 4DPAC, said, "The New Democrats have released a set of tough and smart national security principles that strike the necessary balance between maintaining the world's strongest military force and exerting American leadership by standing for human rights, democratic institutions, and economic development. Their agenda stands in stark contrast to Donald Trump's reckless and bigoted worldview that House Republicans have endorsed. In a time when Speaker Paul Ryan continues to stand by Trump's hate-filled speech and dangerous proposals, the New Democrats should be applauded for offering a clear-eyed agenda that will keep America safe and secure."

Randy Belote, Vice President of Strategic Communications at Northrop Grumman, said, “As a leading global security company, Northrop Grumman appreciates the New Democrat Coalition’s focus on national security.  We look forward to working with the New Democrat Coalition and other Members of Congress on both sides of the aisle to implement strong, effective policies to meet current and future threats.”
