NDC Chair-elect Annie Kuster released the below statement following today’s announcements:

“Congratulations to the 16 New Dems who have just been appointed to key positions within the House Democratic Caucus! New Dem Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz will serve as Co-Chair of Steering and Policy and eight New Dem Members, including myself, will serve with her on the Committee as Leader Jeffries appointees. I’m also thrilled that seven New Dems will be serving as Chief Deputy Whips. It's wonderful to see strong New Dem representation at the leadership table and within our Caucus, and I want to thank Leader Jeffries and Whip Clark for appointing New Dems to these key positions. I’m confident each New Dem will do an incredible job representing our priorities, and I look forward to working with these Members and our incoming Democratic leadership team in the new Congress.

“Together, we will ensure New Dem voices are heard across our committees and at the leadership table so that we can continue delivering results for the American people. Our work to make meaningful progress, support hardworking families, and win back the majority in 2024 has just begun!”
