New Democrat Coalition Congratulates Rep. Brendan Boyle on Election to Lead Democrats on the House Budget Committee

Today, House Democrats voted to elect New Dem Rep. Brendan Boyle (PA-02) to serve as the top Democrat on the House Budget Committee in the 118th Congress.

NDC Chair Suzan DelBene (WA-01) released the below statement following today’s vote:

“New Dems are thrilled to congratulate Rep. Brendan Boyle on his new role as the top Democrat on the House Budget Committee. We look forward to working with Rep. Boyle in the next Congress to advance our shared priorities that build on the progress we’ve made under the first two years of the Biden administration.

“As the Vice Chair of the House Budget Committee, Rep. Boyle played a critical role in getting the American Rescue Plan and Inflation Reduction Act across the finish line. These historic pieces of legislation spurred record job growth, worked to address the climate crisis, helped cut costs, and provided critical support for American families.

“We are confident that our nation will benefit from Rep. Boyle’s continued leadership as Ranking Member.”

Elected to Congress in 2014, Rep. Brendan Boyle currently serves on the House Ways and Means Committee and as Vice Chair of the House Budget Committee. He is also the founder and co-chair of the “Blue Collar Caucus” which advocates for working families by addressing wage stagnation, job insecurity, and the future of work.
