New Democrat Coalition Congratulates Rep. Rick Larsen on Election to Lead Democrats on the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee
Today, House Democrats unanimously voted to elect New Dem Rep. Rick Larsen (WA-02) to serve as the top Democrat on the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee in the 118th Congress. New Dems previously endorsed Rep. Larsen for this role.
NDC Chair Suzan DelBene (WA-01) released the below statement following today’s vote:
“New Dems are thrilled to congratulate Rep. Rick Larsen on his new role as the top Democrat on the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee. We look forward to working with Rep. Larsen in the next Congress on the implementation of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law and to build on the progress we’ve made under House Democrats and the Biden administration.
“Rick has served on the T&I Committee for more than 20 years and brings a wealth of experience to the role. Most importantly – he’s committed to breaking through gridlock to deliver real results for the American people. In a closely divided Congress, Rick’s insight and proven leadership ability will enhance Democrats’ ongoing work to modernize our nation’s infrastructure and aid our transition to a clean energy economy.”
Elected to Congress in 2000, Rep. Larsen currently serves as Chair of the Aviation Subcommittee on the T&I Committee. He is also a senior member of the Armed Services Committee.
