New Democrat Coalition Leadership Endorses Rick Larsen for Ranking Member on the Transportation & Infrastructure Committee
Today, New Democrat Coalition Leadership Members endorsed Rick Larsen (WA-02) for Ranking Member on the Transportation and Infrastructure (T&I) Committee.
New Dem Chair Suzan DelBene (WA-01) released the below statement on the endorsement:
“The leadership team of the New Democrat Coalition is proud to endorse our friend and fellow New Dem, Rep. Rick Larsen, for Ranking Member on the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure. For decades now, Rep. Larsen has demonstrated his leadership and expertise on the T&I committee.
“Rep. Larsen played an essential role in working across the aisle to pass the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, once-in-a-generation legislation to improve our nation’s roads, bridges, and internet. New Dems know he will continue that same commitment to getting things done in the next Congress.
“Importantly, Rep. Larsen will also be a strong voice for New Dems as he understands the Coalition’s transportation and infrastructure priorities as well as the importance of breaking through gridlock to deliver legislative wins for Americans. His leadership will enhance Democrats’ ongoing work to modernize our nation’s infrastructure and aid our transition to a green economy through new innovative policies.”
Rep. Rick Larsen (WA-02) released the below statement on the endorsement:
“I am honored to be endorsed by the New Democrat Coalition. I am ready to lead the Democrats on the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee as we fight to defend and build on the historic progress we have made to create more jobs, drive long-term economic growth and build a better transportation network for all in the next Congress.”
Elected to Congress in 2001, Rep. Larsen currently serves as Chair of the Aviation Subcommittee on the T&I Committee. He is also a senior member of the Armed Services Committee.
