New Democrat Coalition Inducts Six New Members
Washington, D.C. – Earlier today, the New Democrat Coalition inducted six new Members of Congress to its membership. The New Members added were Reps. Cheri Bustos (IL-17), Jim Costa (CA-16), Henry Cuellar (TX-28), Seth Moulton (MA-06), Beto O’Rourke (TX-16), and Norma Torres (CA-35). The Members were admitted to the Coalition by acclamation.
“I am pleased to welcome these colleagues as members of the New Democrat Coalition,” said Coalition Chairman Ron Kind. “I look forward to working with all of them to bring innovative, pragmatic solutions to strengthening our economy and making government smarter. With these new members, we will continue to advance the goals of our American Prosperity Agenda: growing the economy in every town and city, giving everyone a shot at the American dream, and making government work better for the middle class.”
With the addition of these six new members, the Coalition now includes 52 members, which represents more than one-fourth of the House Democratic Caucus. To see a text-only list of the updated New Dem membership, click here.
