New Dems Encouraged by Pledge to Move Forward with Korea Trade Negotiations

Today, leaders of the New Democrat Coalition, led by Congressman Joseph Crowley (NY-7) and the New Dem Trade Task Force Co-Chairs Congressman Adam Smith (WA-9) and Congressman Jim Moran (VA-8), released the following statement in response to President Obama's announcement on the Korean-U.S. Free Trade Agreement (KORUS):

"We welcome Saturday's announcement by President Obama signaling the Administration's desire to continue negotiations on the Korea Trade Agreement. The New Dems have long encouraged the Administration to move forward and resolve outstanding issues with pending agreements to better protect American goods and services in the global marketplace, boost competitiveness for American businesses, expand opportunities for American workers, and strengthen our national security. We are committed to working with the Administration to complete these important negotiations by November."
