New Dems Look Forward to Productive Summit on 75th Anniversary of NATO
Today, New Democrat Coalition National Security Task Force Chair Marilyn Strickland (WA-10) issued a statement on the upcoming North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) Summit, which will be held in Washington D.C. from July 9th to July 11th.
“New Dems are proud to welcome our NATO allies and partners to the nation’s capital this week to reaffirm our dedication to peace and security on the 75th anniversary of NATO’s founding.
“Under President Biden’s leadership, America has both strengthened NATO and reiterated our ironclad support for our allies and especially Ukraine. New Dems were central to passing critical funding earlier this year to shore up Ukraine’s defenses. We look forward to a productive summit that both charts a path forward to ensure the Ukrainian people prevail in their existential fight for sovereignty and opposes the authoritarian aggression of regimes in Russia, China, and Iran.
“In Congress, New Dems will continue our work to pass a bipartisan National Defense Authorization Act into law that upholds our commitment to international security and retains America’s role as a global leader in the 21st century.”
