New Dems Welcome Five New Members, Grow Coalition to 114 Total Members

The New Dems remain the largest ideological caucus in the House of Representatives

Today, New Democrat Coalition Chair Brad Schneider (IL-10) announced the admission of five new Members to Coalition: Reps. Jahana Hayes (CT-05), Kevin Mullin (CA-15), Dan Goldman (NY-10), Mike Levin (CA-49), and Brad Sherman (CA-32).

“New Dems are proud to welcome Reps. Goldman, Hayes, Levin, Mullin, and Sherman into our ranks. Each of these Members believes and practices the New Dems’ core values: seeking common ground and a pragmatic approach to policymaking,” said New Dem Chair Brad Schneider. “As New Dems continue to welcome in more like-minded Members from across the Democratic caucus, it is clearer than ever that our party’s current strength – and future success – relies on the commonsense vision generated and embodied by New Dem Members. I look forward to working more closely with each of the new Members joining this Coalition to help deliver for their constituents and the American people.”

“I am excited to join the New Democrat Coalition. Many New Dem members have districts similar to my own and I look forward to working together,” said Rep. Jahana Hayes. “The need for collaboration is vitally important to advance solution-driven policies that help our communities.”

"I'm proud to join the New Democratic Coalition in the 119th Congress. House Democrats have a bold vision for America—one that prioritizes economic growth, empowers the middle class, and invests in domestic innovation,” said Rep. Kevin Mullin. “I’m excited to work alongside my colleagues in the New Democratic Coalition to support forward-thinking policies that ensure economic opportunity for all."

"I'm proud to join my colleagues as a member of the New Democrat Coalition, a group of over 100 House Democrats who work to advance smart, pragmatic solutions that can help every American family succeed," Rep. Dan Goldman said. "As the Trump Administration works to dismantle the federal government and slash critical funding that working people, children, and seniors rely on, I am eager to work with my colleagues to find innovative and effective ways to protect everyday Americans."

"I’m proud to join the New Democrat Coalition, a group committed to finding common-sense, forward-thinking solutions to our nation’s biggest challenges. From strengthening our economy to tackling climate change and ensuring access to affordable health care, the Coalition focuses on what matters to everyday Americans, not billionaires,” said Rep. Mike Levin. “As the representative of a district that is evenly divided between Democrats, Republicans, and Independents, I seek pragmatic solutions that cut across party lines and seek bipartisanship whenever possible. These are priorities for my colleagues in the New Democrat Coalition and I look forward to working with them to deliver results for the American people.”

"I am honored to join the New Democrat Coalition, a group committed to pragmatic solutions that drive economic growth, strengthen the middle class, and promote responsible governance,” said Rep. Brad Sherman. “As we navigate the challenges ahead, I look forward to working with my colleagues to advance policies that create opportunities for all Americans and ensure a strong future for our nation."
