New Democrat Coalition Leadership Urges Colleagues to Vote Against Speaker Boehner’s Plan B
Today, the leaders of the New Democrat Coalition, led by Chair Ron Kind (WI-03), and Vice Chairs Gerry Connolly (VA-11), Jim Himes (CT-04), Rick Larsen (WA-02), and Allyson Schwartz (PA-13), released the following statement prior to the House of Representatives vote on Speaker John Boehner’s Plan B.
“Let’s get back to Plan A — a bipartisan compromise. As we’ve said before, the solution is to go big. That means taking a balanced approach with a combination of revenue increases and spending cuts, making clear to the world that the United States is serious about reducing its debt. The time is now. We do not support calls to delay the difficult decisions that are necessary for the fiscal well being of our nation. We strongly urge all our colleagues to vote against this plan to nowhere.”
